A group of students and their supervisors from Clemson (S.C.) University were recently at the Gauneka Ruritan Center in Falls View to erect some playground equipment. The students represented the United Methodist Church’s campus ministry to students at Clemson University and other smaller schools in the area, according to the Rev. Lane Glaze, campus minister for Clemson UMC and director of the Clemson Wesley Foundation. All told, a group of 52 individuals came to West Virginia for their fall break, which included a day of mission, retreat to Grandview Park and rafting on the Lower Gauley. “We had a great time, and it was the first visit to West Virginia for all but a few members of the group,” said Glaze. Locally, the Fayette Starting Points Center and the Gauneka Ruritan Club/Falls View Community Center were both involved.
