Two die in house fire in Swiss

A house fire in Swiss resulted in the deaths of two individuals Tuesday night, according to a spokesman for one of the responding fire departments.

According to broadcasts early Wednesday afternoon, killed in the fire were Bill Kiser and Verna Lou Wright.

The blaze broke out about 8:30 p.m.

A spokeswoman for the state Fire Marshal’s Office said Wednesday morning that an investigator was on scene in the Nicholas County community trying to determine the cause of the fire.

Gauley River, Gauley Bridge and Boomer fire departments responded to the call.
