Below is a list of trick-or-treat hours for local municipalities:

Ansted — Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m., 12-and-under

Fayetteville — Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

Gauley Bridge — Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

Meadow Bridge — Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

Montgomery — Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

Mount Hope — Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

Oak Hill — Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m., 12-and-under

Pax — Saturday, Oct. 31, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Winona — Saturday, Oct. 31, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.



Halloween events

Haunted House —
The Town of Gauley Bridge will host a haunted house in the Gauley Bridge Community Center (high school) on Oct. 28-31 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Halloween Dance — The Town of Gauley Bridge will host a Halloween dance on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Gauley Bridge Community Center Gym (high school gym) with Bump City Connection’s Lu Lu Shepherd. Trick-or-treat will be on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Trunk-N-Treat — The Fayette Plateau Ministerial Association is promoting again this year the nationally-recognized Halloween Trunk-N-Treat program for local children. The program is designed to provide a safe environment for children to dress up in their costumes and gather treats during Halloween. The participating churches will line their parking lots with vehicles belonging to members from the congregation who will decorate their Trunks-N-Treat the children. The churches participating this year are the Mountain View Church of God, Oak Hill Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church and the Jones Avenue Church of God. They will follow the regular hours set by the City of Oak Hill (from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31).

Halloween Tailgate — Plateau Medical Center will host a Halloween tailgate on Oct. 31 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for those age 12 and under. Plateau Medical Center departments will be handing out candy as well as other local health care providers and business owners in Oak Hill. There will be a costume parade at 4:30 p.m. and a costume judging contest at 5 p.m.
