FAYETTEVILLE — The New River Earth Day Committee and Fayette County Green Advisory Team are preparing for the fifth annual New River Earth Day celebration.
This year’s event is slated to run from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 24 on Court Street and the Fayette County Courthouse lawn.
Event-goers are invited to bring family members and learn about recycling/composting, alternative energy, water conservation, sustainability and reducing an individual’s ecological footprint. They can also participate in a silent auction and take home eco-friendly products, in addition to enjoying live music and checking out educational booths, conservation activities and the surrounding community.
Food and local crafts will be available for purchase, and a special Kid’s Zone will delight youngsters with a children’s concert, games, hands-on activities and kid’s inflatable fun.
