GOP’s Lincoln Day event set for Oct. 7

Gary Lilly, chairman of the Fayette County Republican Executive Committee, announced last week the group will host its annual Lincoln Day Dinner Thursday, Oct. 7 in Oak Hill.

Keynote speaker for the annual event, set for 6 p.m. at the Lewis Community Foundation’s Christian Community Center (the old Armory) on Central Avenue, will be former Secretary of State Betty Ireland.

Also speaking at the GOP event prior to the general election will be Congressional candidate Elliott “Spike” Maynard, who’s taking on longtime incumbent Rep. Nick Rahall, along with Adam Milligan, candidate for the state Senate seat from the 11th District; Marshall Clay, candidate for a House seat from the 29th District; and Mike Stewart, chairman of the state party.

Tickets for the event are $30 per person. A buffet dinner will be served, and a silent auction will be held.

To buy tickets, contact Lilly by phone at 304-574-2049, or at 54 Faith Way, Fayetteville, WV 25840; or any other member of the Republican Executive Committee. Checks can be made payable to FCREC.
