  • Rachel Metz Irvin, an RN, BSN, in the hospital’s acute care unit, supervised the “Boo Boo Booth” at the fair. She treated any of the children who may have picked up a scrape or other injury during the day, and she also performed a quick assessment of the children’s skin, looking for bug bites. She taught them and their parents the proper way to care for bites and the importance of using bug repellent. Also, she taught the proper technique and the importance of hand washing. Kids Health Safety Fair

Dr. Traci Boyd Acklin and Montgomery General Hospital last week hosted the annual Kids Health Safety Fair. Children and their parents, as well as other visitors, were able to participate in many health-related activities, in addition to having some fun along the way.
