Roy Lee Cales



Roy Lee Cales, 68, of Robson, died March 16, 2008, at his home.

Born June 29, 1939, at Deepwater, he was the son of the late Fred and Melissie Dean Cales. Several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

Roy was retired from Cargill Salt Mine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was a member of Union No. 436.

He was an outdoorsman.

Surviving: wife, Wilma Jean Manley Cales; son, Tony DeWayne Cales and wife, Christina, of Spencer, Ohio; daughters, Stephanie Cales Bragg and husband, Joseph, of Allenherst, Ga., and Teresa Cales Miguel and husband, Toney, of Delaware, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Chester Cales of Hilliard, Ohio, Ronald Cales of Ravenna, Ohio, and Dewey Cales of Lancaster, Ohio, and a sister, Laura Gill of Welch.

Graveside rites and committal services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802.

Joyce M. Hudnall



Joyce Molly Hudnall, 79, of East Bank, died March 14, 2008, in Genesis Health Center in Marmet.

Born March 28, 1928, in Kanawha County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Edith McLeary Mullins. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her son, Andrew.

Mrs. Hudnall was a former employee of Tom’s Supermarket in Chesapeake.

Surviving: children, Carol Workman of Hansford, Marjorie Hutt of Hampton, Va., Kenneth Hudnall of East Bank, Laura Dickens of Richmond, Va., and Joseph Hudnall of Plantation, Fla.; sister, Lillian Lanham of Glasgow; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Service was March 17 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, with Rev. Alfred Boyd officiating. Burial followed in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesis Health Care Center, Marmet.

Reba McAtee Kincaid



Reba McAtee Kincaid, 81, of Brownsville, died March 15, 2008, at Montgomery General Hospital, Montgomery, following a sudden illness.

Born June 10, 1926, at Wyndal, she was the daughter of the late Howard Dencil and Effie E. King McAtee. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Kincaid; a son, James Neal “Jimbo” Kincaid Jr.; and a sister, Doris Roark.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving: her daughters, Ruby “Tuggar” Runyon and husband, Damon, of Gauley Bridge, and Brenda Johnson and husband, Sherman, of Alta; sons, Larry Kincaid and wife, Tammy, of Brownsville, J.K. Kincaid of Montgomery, and Eddie Kincaid and wife, Renee, of Brownsville; sisters, Hilda McAtee and Ruby Lavender, both of Gauley Bridge; brothers, Donald McAtee and H. Kenneth McAtee, both of Brownsville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

The funeral service was March 18 at Pennington Funeral Home Chapel, Gauley Bridge, with the Rev. Charles Blankenship and the Rev. Richard Harold officiating. Interment was in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.

Linda B. Morrison



Linda B. Morrison, 52, of Fayetteville, died March 13, 2008, at home following an extended illness.

Born Oct. 18, 1955, at Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Lee Otis Bobbitt and Florence Helen Eakin Bobbitt.

Linda graduated from Nicholas County High School and Concord University, where she received a B.S. in Biology. She also received her master’s degree from West Virginia College of Graduate Studies.

She was the supervisor of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, from November 1982 until June 2006.

Linda was a member of the Fayetteville United Methodist Church.

Surviving: her husband, John Morrison of Fayetteville; her children, Kelli Morrison of Huntington, and Steven Morrison and Mark Morrison, both of Fayetteville; sisters, Anne Strickler and husband, Bob, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Patricia Cox and husband, Carl “Kim” of Keslers Cross Lanes; stepmother, Edith Price-Bobbitt of Fayetteville; mother-in-law, Shirley Morrison of Philipsburg, Pa.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicky and Al Stone of Philipsburg; sister-in-law, Karen Morrison of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at the Fayetteville United Methodist Church, 120 High Street, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Clare Sulgit-Horn officiating. She will be laid to rest in Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville, following the service.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21 at the Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, 350 West Maple Avenue, Fayetteville.
