Glen Ray Comer



Glen Ray Comer, 60, of Cannelton, died June 6, 2008, at Montgomery General Hospital in Montgomery.

Born Dec. 27, 1947, at Raleigh County, he was the son of the late Dale Woodrow Comer and Opal Margie Runion Comer Whittington and stepson of the late William Fred Whittington.

Glen was of the Apostolic Holiness faith.

Surviving: brothers, Jimmy Henson of Mullens, and Charles Comer and Roger Comer, both of Oak Hill; half-brothers, Frankie Runion and Glen Whittington, both of Oak Hill; and half-sisters, Sue Myers of Anthony, Fla., and Wanda Popovich of Alexandria, Va.

Graveside rites and committal services, followed by burial, were June 12 at the Settle Cemetery in Robson with Rev. Bobby Ayers Sr. officiating.

Gary Douglas Craigo Sr.



Gary Douglas Craigo Sr. died June 13, 2008.

Born May 2, 1954, in Montgomery, he was the son of the late Loren and Irene Craigo. Gary also was preceded in death by a brother, David Meshak, and a nephew, Steven Dixon.

He attended Mt. Hope High School. He was a member of the Mountaineer Cruiser Car Club. His life-long hobby was crafting cars.

Gary met the love of his life in April of 1993. They were married three months later, on July 25, and enjoyed almost 15 wonderful years together.

A genuine, vivacious soul, Gary never met a stranger. He often displayed selfless acts of kindness to those in need. Gary will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

Surviving: his loving soul mate, Patricia Louise Craigo; children, Gary Douglas Craigo Jr., Amanda (Craigo) and husband Lamar Ward, and Samantha Wingrove-Craigo; step-children, Allen and wife Alisha Colaiseno, Thomas Colaiseno and Crystal Colaiseno; grandchildren, Justin Craigo, Vincent Craigo, Victoria Craigo, Tyler Partain, Noah Ward, Noalani Loren Ward, Kaylee Hughes, Jaden Colaiseno and Alex Colaiseno; brothers, Richard and wife Jeanie Craigo, Teddy and wife Carol Craigo and Loren and wife Patti Meshak; sisters, Sandra Calvert, Beverly and husband John Gilchrist and Kathy and husband Jack Owens; nine nephews and eight nieces.

Memorial services were held Monday, June 16.



Marie Inez Hinkle



Marie Inez Hinkle of London died June 10, 2008.

Born Nov. 9, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Ralph F. and Carrie Mae King Hinkle. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Mae Ferguson.

She was a registered nurse, having worked at CAMC Memorial Division.

Surviving: brother, James F. Hinkle of Longview, Texas; sister, Mary Catherin Setliff of Huntington; and niece, Ruth Christine “Christy” Ferguson.

Charles S. Johnson



Charles S. Johnson, 80, of Falls View, died June 20, 2008, at home.

Born March 24, 1928, at Charlton Heights, he was the son of the late Vernon and Inie Noel Johnson. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Rita Ann Griffith.

Mr. Johnson was a retired employee from Union Carbide Corp., Metals Division, at Alloy.

Surviving: his wife, Martha E. Cole Johnson; daughters, Karen Faye Johnson and Sharon Kaye Adrendt, both of Falls View; son, Charles Richard Johnson of Cedar Grove; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends June 24 at their home in Falls View.

Entombment will follow at a later date at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.

Frances Ellen Moore



Frances Ellen “Susie” Moore, 55, of Montgomery, a former resident of Bentree, died June 16, 2008, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

Born April 3, 1953, at Webster Springs, she was the daughter of the late William Robert and Mable Givens Skinner.

She was a homemaker and attended Page Church of God.

Surviving: daughter, Rebecca Sizemore and husband, James, of Kincaid; son, Russell Moore Jr. of Lizemores; sisters, DD, Pammy, and Renie, all of Virginia; brothers, Bill and David of Ohio, and Donnie of Mount Olive; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral service was June 22 at Miller Family Cemetery, Cowen, with the Rev. James Elmore officiating.

Ralph Raike



Ralph Raike, 71, of Shrewsbury, died June 13, 2008.

There was no visitation or service.

Frances H. Robbins



Frances H. Robbins, 89, of Latrobe, Pa., formerly of Charlton Heights and Charleston, died June 20, 2008, at Green Meadows in Latrobe.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth F. Robbins, in 1998.

Frances was a graduate of Ohio University and was a member of the Charleston Chapter No. 88 of the Order of Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.

Surviving: her children and their spouses, Kay Sheppard of Greensburg, Pa., James Robbins of West Orange, N.J., Jeanne Unger of Midvale, Utah, and Curtis Robbins of Fairfax, Va.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Hartman of Harrisonburg, Va.; and sisters, Evelyn Spengler of Brainerd, Minn., Dorothy Wig of North Canton, Ohio, and Hester Coward of Franklin, Ind.

Family and friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Pa., followed at 2 p.m. by a service in the funeral home with the Rev. David Eversdyke officiating. Interment will be held Thursday at West Union Cemetery, Athens, Ohio.

The family wishes memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 683 Georges Station Rd., Suite No. 2, Greensburg, PA, 15601.

Terence L. Graft, funeral director, is entrusted with arrangements.

Ocie Miller Walker



Ocie Irene Miller Walker, 75, of Brunswick, Ohio, died June 16, 2008, at University Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio.

Surviving: daughters, Treasa Waley and husband, Kenny, of Danville, Ill., and Myra Crouch and husband, Mike, of Virginia Beach, Va.; sons, Dennis Cline of Brunswick, Ohio, Kevin Cline and wife, Debbie, of Medina, Ohio, and Jim Walker and wife, Dawn, of Brunswick, Ohio; sister, Lorena Lilly of Beckley; brother, Bobby Miller of Gauley Bridge; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was June 21 at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with the Rev. Ravin Fields officiating. Burial followed at Montgomery Memorial Park, London.

Hazel Webb



Hazel Clark Webb of Flatwoods, Ky., died June 1, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

Born Aug. 21, 1923, in Glen Ferris, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Celia Bibbee Clark. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Julian Webb; brothers, Edward, Charles, Lloyd and Arthur Ray Clark; and sisters, Catherine Clark, Lucille Norford, Dorthea Kinser, Carolyn Brenda, Mildred Propps and Elizabeth Martin.

Surviving: sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Sandy Webb of Boyd County, Ky., and John and Vicky Webb of Raceland, Ky.; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruthie Webb and Jim Plummer of Flatwoods and Kay and Mike Gambardella of Suffolk, Va.; brothers, Harry Clark Jr. and Franklin Clark, both of Kanawha Falls; sisters, Imogene Jones of Boonville, N.C., and Sue Kirby of Kanawha Falls; grandchildren, Richard A. Webb, Travis, Matt and Lance Kokas, Eric and Jessica Gambardella, and Natalie and Jenna Webb; and a great-granddaughter, Audrey Jo Webb.

Funeral service was June 4 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. Mark McKinney. Burial was in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
