Eugene ‘Gene’ Nutter
Eugene “Gene” Nutter, 78, of Fayetteville, died July 26, 2008, at the Fayette Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fayetteville.
Born Feb. 1, 1930, in Fayette County, he was the son of the late John and Dolly E. Smith Nutter. He also was preceded in death by his four sisters, Marie Bennett, Nina Nutter, Liz Nutter and Lena Nutter; and one brother, Ted Nutter.
Mr. Nutter was a member of the Cotton Hill Baptist Church at Beckwith. He retired in 1992 from Elswick Lumber at Dixie. He worked most of his life in the saw mill, timber and iron work industry. He enjoyed car trading.
Surviving: his wife, Arbutus Arthur Nutter of Fayetteville; daughters, Phyllis Nutter and husband, Amos, of Fayetteville, Patricia Radford and husband, Tim, of Oak Hill, and Linda Goodson of Oak Hill; sisters, Patricia Nutter of Cunard, and Belle Wood of Lynchburg, Va.; brother, Amos Nutter; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home Chapel, Fayetteville, with Rev. Randy McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Cunard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Perry
Elizabeth Lee “Dolly” Perry, 87 of Montgomery, died July 21, 2008 at home.
Born June 2, 1921, in Page, she was the daughter of the late Robert P. and Ruby T. Perry. She also was preceded in death by her sister Marilyn Tucker, brother, Gerald Perry and niece Molly Tucker.
She was retired from United National Bank in Montgomery and was a member and former treasurer and Sunday school teacher of the First Christian Church in Montgomery.
Surviving: sister, Sedalia Hamrick of Montgomery; special niece and nephew, Nancy Fitzwater of Boomer and Reed Hamrick; niece, Melissa Laidlow; and nephews, Roy Tucker, Robin Tucker, Rex Tucker and Paul Harper.
Service was July 25 at the First Christian Church in Montgomery with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Burial followed in Montgomery Memorial Park at London.
