Walter Alexander ‘Bruiser’ Cole Jr.

Walter Alexander “Bruiser” Cole Jr., 88, of Gauley Bridge, died Aug. 2, 2012, at the Ansted Center, in Ansted following a long illness.

Born Dec. 5, 1923, he was the son of the late Walter A. and Ann Taylor Cole Sr. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Grundy Cole; sisters, Ruby Roop, Bonnie Stull, Grace Cole, Macil Cole and Mae Cole; and brothers, Tom, John and Earl Cole.

Mr. Cole was a substitute school bus driver for Fayette and Kanawha counties, and a deputy sheriff for Fayette County.

He was of the Baptist faith and a retired coal miner.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating and most other outdoor activities; he also loved to roller skate in his day.

Surviving: his daughters, Cynthia “Bozzie” Campbell and Scott of Victor, and Diana Reed and Darrell of High Point, N.C., son Allen B. Cole of Beacon, N.Y.; sister Reba McLain of Orange Park, Fla.; brother, Harold “Sonny” Cole and Margaret of St. Albans; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Aug. 9 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel, Ansted, with Pastor Michael Lanham officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memory Gardens Victor.

Teresa Marie Green

Teresa Marie Green, 42, of Montgomery, died Aug. 5, 2012.

Born Aug. 18, 1969, in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Sharon Zackoski.

Surviving: her sons, John Smith and his wife, Crystal, of Gallagher, and Jordan Smith and his companion, Kadee Holmes, of Marmet; grandchildren, Madison Lee Holmes and Jordan Robert Smith; sisters, JoAnn White of Cedar Grove and Regina Dalton of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a brother, Joe Zackoski Jr. and his wife, Regina, of Whittaker.

Memorial service was Aug. 10 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, with Rev. Anthony Pratt officiating.
