Tiffany Sue Dearnell

Tiffany Sue Dearnell, 30, of Pratt, died Jan. 29, 2012.

Tiffany was born Nov. 18, 1981, in Charleston.

Surviving: her children, Roger Lee McCoy, Seth Arthur McCoy and Brianna Elizabeth Carrol; mother, Sherry White and her husband, Jeffey, of Dry Branch; father, Jerry McCoy and his wife, Carol, of Belle; sister, Lee Ann Cooper of Pratt; half-brother, Jerry McCoy of Belle; grandmother, Fannie Mae Waugh of Miami; great-grandmother, Mary Magdalene Smith of Dry Branch; aunt, Sue Hodge and her husband, Roger, of Ohley; and step-sisters, Krista White of Marmet, Samantha White of Sissonville and Candice White of Marmet.

Service was Feb. 1 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, with Rev. Jack Long officiating. Burial followed at Saw Mill Cemetery at Winifrede.

James Allen Hall

James Allen Hall, 76, of Oak Hill, died peacefully Feb. 3, 2012, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness.

Born July 14, 1935, in Vonore, Tenn., he was the son of Allen Mack Hall and Mertice Ethel Giles Hall. James also was preceded in death by his brothers, Jarvis and Benny.

He was a 1953 graduate of Vonore High School where he was a member of the Vonore High School Blue Devils football team.

In 1958 he married Jo Ann Gregory of Maryville, Tenn., and soon after joined the United States Air Force. The couple then moved to Belle, where he began his trucking career under the name of Hall Trucking and then moved to Alabama to continue his trucking career.

In 1963, James and Jo Ann moved to Oak Hill where he established H&H Contractors to construct portions of Rt. 19 into Oak Hill, and then became the sole owner of Concrete Supply Company where he worked until retirement.

After retirement, Mr. Hall established Country Roads Family Raceway and Fun Valley Mini-Golf where he worked as long as his health allowed. He loved his time spent getting to know the local people while laughing and joking with the children.

Surviving: his wife Jo Ann of 53 years; son, Greg and wife Chrissy of Fayetteville; daughters, Patti Blackburn of Fayetteville, and Judy Lively and husband Mike of Oak Hill; sisters, Joyce Crouch and husband Tom of Wartburg, Tenn., and Janice Standridge and husband Doug of Madisonville, Tenn.; grandchildren, John Puckett III and wife Felicia of Knoxville, Tenn., Gregory Hall II and wife Christie of Yukon, Okla., Lindsay Blackburn of Beckley, Kady Howell of Beckley, Kalli Jo Ballard of Fayetteville, and Jared and Kathleen Lively of Oak Hill; and a host of friends and extended family members.

Funeral service was Feb. 6 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Pastor Justin Seay officiating. Entombment followed in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
