Kickoff Cookout planned

The Golden Bear Athletic Club and the WVU Tech Athletic Department will host Tech’s first annual “Kickoff Cookout” with the WVU Tech football, volleyball and women’s soccer teams this week.

All are invited to come out to Martin Field to eat, mingle with Tech student-athletes, and catch a Golden Bear football preview.

The cookout will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 12 at Martin Field, followed by a 7 p.m. football practice that is open to the public.

“Kickoff Cookout” tickets cost $11 at the food tent, with the dinner menu featuring cookout/tailgate items.

Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP with Susan Nutter in the athletic department at 304-442-3121 by 4:30 p.m. today.
