MONTGOMERY — In conjunction with its annual Senior Expo, Montgomery General Hospital is looking once more to recognize the Upper Kanawha Valley’s Senior Citizen of the Year.
The hospital’s annual Live Well Bee Well Senior Expo is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the award winner will be announced at that time.
The award will be presented to the senior citizen who continues to contribute to the community and who exemplifies the meaning of “Live Well Bee Well.”
Each entry should include the name and address of the person being nominated as well as a short essay of 500 words of less stating why you believe your nominee should be named Senior Citizen of the Year.
Nominations for the UKV Senior Citizen of the Year will be accepted until Monday, Oct. 14 and should be mailed to Lou Ann Bowen, Montgomery General Hospital, 401 Sixth Avenue, Montgomery WV 25136.

Judging of the award will be conducted by a panel of individuals who live outside the UKV area so that no bias will be shown.
In addition to the announcement of the award winner, the expo will feature over 50 vendors with important information to share with area senior citizens, as well as entertainment, health screenings, refreshments, educational sessions, prize drawings and Bingo.
There is no admission charge for the expo and those in attendance also may purchase a discount lunch in the hospital’s cafeteria.
