A Gauley Bridge man is in jail after breaking into a garage and stealing numerous items, according to Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley.
On Dec. 7, a breaking and entering was reported on Main Street in Gauley Bridge in which a storage building had been entered and numerous items stolen from inside. Two days later, a Fayette County Sheriff's deputy and a State Police trooper were attempting to locate a wanted subject in Gauley Bridge. While at this location, the officers noticed items inside that were earlier stolen from the storage building.
The wanted subject was not located; however, the suspect in the breaking and entering was arrested at this time. Nicholas Farley, 31, of Gauley Bridge, was charged with receiving/transferring stolen property, three counts of breaking and entering, and grand larceny. He was unable to post the $75,000 bond set by the Fayette County Magistrate's Office and was remanded to the Southern Regional Jail to await proceedings.
