Joanna Young of Belva has been selected as a nominee in the 2019 Josie Music Awards for independent artists and will travel to Dollywood in September for the awards show.

A local woman has been nominated for the 2019 Josie Music Awards.

Nicholas County singer/songwriter Joanna Young, of Belva, a popular act on the local fairs and festival circuit, is among those nominated for the Josie Awards, the largest Independent artist awards show globally.

Joanna started her career as a toddler, singing in her church and at family events from the age of 2, and over the years has performed all across the state of West Virginia as well as around the Southeast.

She has performed with multiple artists including West Virginia’s Adairs Run, which was recently on the county music show “Real Country,” county music star Daryle Singletary and more.

In January of this year, she released her debut EP, “Joanna Young The EP,” which can be streamed on all digital platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify. Joanna is also on all social media platforms. You can check her out and keep up to date with her by following “Joanna Young Music” on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Nominee suggestions for the Josie Awards go through a lengthy review process. A panel of music industry professionals reviewed over 23,000 artists of all genres and selected the official nominees based on their talent, skill, material, professionalism, and more.

Young will travel to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee at the end of September to attend the 2019 Awards Show at the famous Dollywood Celebrity Theater. Regardless of the outcome, Joanna says that she is humbled and blessed to even be considered among the best independent artists in the world, and is proud to represent the state of West Virginia.
