Audiences who attend this year’s Christmas show at the Historic Fayette Theatre will get more bang for their buck, so to speak. The HFT production of “A Christmas Carol” will be presented three times this weekend with a little something extra for audiences.
The classic family Christmas show once more will bring to life Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserable skinflint who has no use for Christmas — or compassion for that matter; the spirits who attempt to sway Scrooge to change his ways before it is too late; and Bob Cratchitt and his loving though poverty-stricken family, including Tiny Tim. The show is scheduled to be performed Nov. 25-27 and Dec. 2-4. Shows on Nov. 27 and Dec. 4 are 2 p.m. matinees, while all other shows are set for 8 p.m.
Prior to each production this year, however, local performers will provide musical entertainment. Following is the schedule of performers scheduled:
Dec. 2 — Fayetteville Community Chorus
Dec. 3 — Freedom’s Call
Dec. 4 — Saints Peter & Paul Youth Choir
Tickets may be purchased at the theater Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m., or ordered online with your credit card at brownpapertickets.com. If you need handicap or group seating of 10 or more, please call the theater at 304-574-4655. Adult tickets are $10, and seniors 55 and over, and children 12 and under are $7.
