Rabies clinics will be held around Fayette County next week. Immunizations will be available for both dogs and cats, and dog owners may pay their dog taxes at that time.

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayette County Assessor Eddie Young has released the 2019 rabies clinic schedule.

The clinics will be held the week of June 10. State law requires that a tax be paid on all dogs six months of age or older. The Fayette County tax is $3 per dog.

Immunizations for dogs and cats, provided by the Oak Hill Animal Hospital, cost as follows:

Dogs — rabies, $10; distemper and parvo-virus — $25; and bordetella (sometimes called kennel cough) — $10; and

Cats — rabies, $10; distemper — $12; and leukemia — $12.

Monday, June 10

9 to 9:30 a.m. — Beards Fork (Southern Appalachian Labor School)

9:45 to 10:15 a.m. — Page/Kincaid (Kincaid Post Office)

10:45 to 11:30 a.m. —  Summerlee/Lochgelly (old Summerlee/Lochgelly School lot)

12:45 to 2 p.m. —  Fayetteville  (Town Park Shelter #2)

2:15 to 3 p.m. —  Beckwith (The Store)

Tuesday, June 11

9 to 9:45 a.m. —  Gauley Bridge (New River Campground)

10 to 10:45 a.m. — Falls View (Department of Highways/old Armory)
