An early Monday morning traffic stop in Fayette County led to the discovery of a large quantity of heroin, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
In a release, the department said that a deputy made a traffic stop in the Deepwater Mountain Road area of Fayette County after noticing a vehicle making a traffic offense.
A search of the stopped vehicle led to the discovery of the drugs and ended with its two occupants — Bernard Echols, 55, of Chicago, and Arnesha Higginbotham, 27, of Beckley — being charged with possession with the intent to deliver and felony conspiracy.
According to the release, Echols had a total of 15 different aliases and Social Security numbers.
Both of the occupants of the vehicle were transported to Southern Regional Jail to await arraignment.
