Margaret Staggers is a successful House of Delegates winner of the primary election on May 10. She is now a Democratic candidate for one of the three seats for the W.Va. House of Delegates in our general election on Nov. 8. Margaret is my neighbor on Whispering Lane in Fayetteville, and I would like for you to consider her for your support and vote in November.

Margaret was born on Jan. 12, 1945 and completed her medical degree in 1969 at the WVU School of Medicine. She has been an active physician in the state of W.Va. since 1969. She has served as an emergency physician at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley for 21 years, from 1995 to present. She has also worked as the medical director for our Fayette County 911 Center, Emergency Medical Fire Rescue, Emergency Operators Center General and Jan-Care Ambulance since 1985.

Margaret was elected to the W.Va. House of Delegates from the 29th District representing Fayette County in 2006. She has served in the W.Va. House of Delegates as an assistant majority whip, vice chairperson on the Roads and Transportation Committee and a member of the Government Organization Committee, Health and Human Resources Committee, Veterans Affairs/Homeland Security Committee and the House Select Committee on redistricting. During the 79th session of the W.Va. Legislature, Margaret served as vice chairperson of the Committee on Enrolled Bills.

Since her graduation from WVU Medical School, I have found that Margaret is a strong advocate for health care and excellence in education in our homes and schools throughout Fayette County. She knows the importance of everyone working together for the improvement of Fayette County, regardless of which side of the aisle they sit in Charleston.

Margaret can bring her life experiences as a physician to the W.Va. Legislature and use her medical background and experience to bring a valuable service to Fayette County. She will work for positive changes in Fayette County and will keep us all informed about the activities in the W.Va. House of Delegates. She will work hard to represent each of us in Charleston and strive to bring financial soundness and progress to our great state.

I urge you to give Margaret Staggers your consideration and support so that she can work closely with all our legislators to build a better Fayette County.
