LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An Indiana man faces murder charges after he allegedly robbed a man then drove the victim’s minivan from Jeffersonville into Louisville, dragging the victim along the way.

Louisville Metro Police Department Homicide Unit Sgt. Emily McKinley told WAVE 3 News Jesse “Corky” Williams, 55, was taken into custody Friday afternoon and charged in the case.

Police said Williams was friends with the victim, Marvin Davey, 51, of Jeffersonville, whose body was discovered at Magnolia Avenue and Hazel Street near downtown Louisville early on the morning of April 18. Investigators said Davey died of blunt force trauma.

McKinley said Williams and Davey got into an argument in Jeffersonville after Williams stole $100 from Davey. According to McKinley, Davey became entangled in the seatbelt of the minivan. Williams pushed Davey aside, climbed into the driver’s seat and drove from Jeffersonville to Park DuValle in Louisville.

According to Google Maps, the shortest route between the two locations is 14.9 miles.

Williams is charged with murder, robbery and tampering with physical evidence.
