With eight selections, Mount Hope led the 2009 All-Fayette County football team, announced prior to Christmas by the county coaches.

Meadow Bridge and Valley had seven honorees each, Fayetteville had six, Oak Hill had five and Midland Trail had four.

With his first-team selection this year, Valley’s Jack Simms is the lone four-time all-county pick. Fayetteville’s Drew Weis and Chase Lafferty are both three-time selections. Other repeat picks from a year ago are Valley’s Marcus White, Fayetteville’s MichaelAngelo Hernandez, Mount Hope’s Eric Canaday, Meadow Bridge’s Devonté Petitt, Tyler Bennett and Mike Gillespie. and Oak Hill’s DeAndré Leonard.

The players and their coaches were treated to lunch recently by the Oak Hill McDonald’s.
