Teammates Trevor Carson and Trent Green had a bang-bang finish Saturday to lead the Riverside Warriors to a second-place team showing in the Patty Forgey Cross-Country Invitational at the University of Rio Grande Saturday.

Carson clocked a time of 17 minutes, 19.59 seconds to place third overall in the boys high school race, while Green was right on his heels with a 17:19.96 clocking for fourth.

Belpre's Eli Fullerton (17:03.32) was the individual champion.

Other scorers for the Warriors included Tristen Young (25th, 19:22.19), Jaden Booker (28th, 19:29.45) and Larry Watson (30th, 19:42.94).

Belpre earned the boys team title with 67 points, while Riverside scored 78.

For the Riverside girls, Jacque Arrington posted a 20th-place finish in 22:56.12. The overall winner was Gallia Academy's Sarah Watts (20:14.49).

With 55 points, Liberty Union captured the team title.
