Midland Trail got a big game from running back Jayden Roop on Thursday to cruise by Valley, 36-8, in middle school football action.

Roop had 12 carries for 188 yards and three touchdowns, in addition to hauling in a 12-yard scoring pass from Aidan Foster.

Teammate Colton Walkup carried seven times for 33 stripes and had a 7-yard reception. He scored a pair of two-point conversions. Also, Gage Johnson rushed seven times for 44 yards and a score.

On the defensive side of the ball, Roop provided four tackles, including two tackles for loss, and forced a fumble. Kaiden Nuckols collected four stops, including two tackles for loss, and Walkup logged four tackles.

Also, Aiden Weis registered three tackles and deflected a pass, and Cruz Tompkins, Avery Preast and Damon Mooney had three stops apiece. Zander Ooten, Kordell Brown, Hayden Carte and Kaden Rose had a tackle apiece.

Jake Ewing intercepted a pass and Cash Barnhouse recovered a fumble for the Patriots' prevent unit.

For Valley, Quade McGhee scored the touchdown, and Kayden Myers caught a two-point conversion pass from Tavion Woods.
