On the heels of a successful road trip that included a stretch of four wins in five games, the West Virginia Power return home tonight to open a series against the Savannah Sand Gnats.
The Power, now 49-42 on the season, used the road trip to get back on the winning path, taking four of the last five games. Prior to the road trip, the team had lost five consecutive games.
The Power began the stint away from home against Kannapolis, sweeping that three-game series. West Virginia then traveled to Asheville, splitting the first two outings.
The Power had a scheduled travel day on Tuesday before playing Savannah Wednesday through Friday. They then play the Kannapolis Intimidators in a four-game series beginning Saturday.
This home stand includes many promotions, starting with Wine Club and Working Women's Wednesdays and highlighted Thursday by the popular “Thirsty Thursday” drink specials. On Friday, CAMC has Organ Donation Night.
Perhaps the most unique promotion of the season is Saturday when the first 1,000 fans through the gate at Appalachian Power Park receive a replica of the state capitol, courtesy of the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation. If that isn’t enough, there will also be a drawing for a flat screen television on Saturday.
