The WVU Tech Athletic Department will sponsor Pink-Out Night for the men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The Play 4KAY event starts with the women’s game against the University of Rio Grande followed by the men’s contest against Southern Virginia University.
Both squads will wear this year’s Strikeout Cancer shirts during warm-ups. Strikeout Cancer is the annual WVU Tech softball charity event that raises funds and awareness for aiding the cure of breast cancer.
Donations can also be made throughout the evening for anyone wishing to contribute to the American Cancer Society or Play 4KAY foundation. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the doubleheader in support of the cause.
The softball team will begin selling Strikeout Cancer shirts during the Pink-Out event on Feb. 6. There will be a limited quantity available for purchase. If your size is not available, pre-orders for additional shirts are available through Feb. 15. All shirts are $10, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
Over the past two years, the softball team has raised and donated over $2,000 to the American Cancer Society.
WVU Tech softball’s annual Strikeout Cancer games will be held on April 7 and 8. All games are held on the Riverside High School campus in Belle.
