The WVU Tech women suffered three losses on the hardwood last week.

Tech fell to visiting Georgetown 83-35 Saturday, to visiting Cumberlands 89-36 Thursday and to visiting Bluefield State College 42-32.

In the Georgetown setback, the Golden Bears were led by Kayla Muncy’s 11-point effort. Sharnage Young and Ashley Blaney added nine each, and Jessica Johnson tallied six.

Katie Filiatreau netted 15 points to lead four Tigers in double figures. Jayme Gilbert chipped in 14, Jessica Waddle 12 and Makaine Huffer 10.

On Thursday, Blaney tallied 16 points and grabbed six rebounds for Tech, while Young contributed eight points.

Six Cumberlands players provided double-digit scoring. Lauren Wombles led the winners, who shot 56.7 percent, with 19 points and eight rebounds. Madison Flowers added 15 points, Hannah Jefferson 14 and Lauren Martin 13.

The Bears played a closer game with former West Virginia Conference foe Bluefield State last Tuesday. Following a 15-15 halftime score, the Big Blues put the game out of reach late.

With 16 points, Blaney was the lone Tech player to reach double figures in the scoring column. Blaney had four steals and teammate Gray had five thefts.

Ebony Miller recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds to power BSC.
